The History of GA Valves
1828
Blakeborough of Brighouse was founded
Blakeborough of Brighouse, renowned worldwide for fluid control valves, was founded. Over the years, it expanded to a vast 15-acre site in Brighouse and employed 1200 individuals, including many from the local community.
1989
Blakeborough Concluded its Operations
On April 12, 1989, Blakeborough concluded its operations. Former Blakeborough’s staff, boasting 50+ years of valve expertise, acquired a portion of Blakeborough’s intellectual property rights and established Golden Anderson & G.A. Valves Sales Ltd.
2002
The Birth of GA Valves
In 2002, a new chapter began with the opening of a new office and warehouse in Brighouse, near the original Blakeborough’s site, marking the birth of GA VALVES.
2005
GA Valves Became a Distributor for Rotas' PRV Range
GA Valves expanded by becoming an agent and distributor for Rotas’ PRV range. They also added another office and warehouse in Maulden, focusing on technical control valves. The company broadened its offerings by acquiring DDS Ltd, a manufacturer of pipeline marker systems, and introducing MF gate valves and check valves in sizes from 50mm to 1000mm.
2006
GA Valves Expanded
Further expansion occurred in 2006 as GA Valves acquired additional properties, enhancing its portfolio.
2015
Diversification of GA Valves
GA Valves diversified its product range by introducing multi-valve packages to support major frameworks.
2018
GA Valves Became 100% Family Run
In a significant development, G.A. Valves Sales Ltd underwent a restructure and transformed into a 100% family-run company. This momentous change set the stage for the company’s future, marking the beginning of an exciting era.
2020
GA Valves Commitment to Sustainability
GA Valves remained committed to innovation and sustainability. They introduced soft-seat gate and check valve ranges (50mm – 1200mm) and recyclable marker posts for a more environmentally friendly future.
